KAUNAS BIG BAND HISTORY
KAUNAS BIG BAND is a metropolitan city of Kaunas Jazz Orchestra, established in 1992, is actively involved in their city and of musical life. The orchestra is taking place in Lithuania in jazz festivals, giving audiences in a new and original programming. Collaborate with the best Big Band Kaunas Lithuania jazz instrumentalists and vocalists – Petras Vysniauskas, Valerijus Ramoska, Vytautas Labutis, Saulius Šiaučiulis, Arvydas Jofė, Oleg Molokoyedov, Eugenijus Kanevičius, Arkady Gotesman, Paul Gunter, Vytautas Mikeliūnas, Neda Malūnavičiūtė and others. Orchestra, jazz-like culture and was represented by the borders of the Republic – Finland, Russia, Holland, Sweden, Estonia, Norway, Poland, Latvia, Belarus, the countries with jazz and music festivals in Kaunas participated in the Big Band.

A colorful biography of the orchestra took a creative project with world renowned jazz musicians, and Roger Pontare (Sweden), Jukka Linkola, Koivistoinen Eero (Finland), Barbara Dennerlein (Germany), Daniel Messina (Argentina), Frank Mantooth, Randy Brecker, Jiggs Whigham (USA), Arkady Shilkloper (Russia), and others. Landmark joint projects with the Amsterdam (Netherlands), choir (Algimantas Bražinskas oratorio “Song of Joy”, conduc. Schuitemaker Pierre) and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (Rolf Liebermann “Big Band Concerto and Symphony Orchestra, conduc. Professor. Domarkas Sophie).
Much attention Kaunas Big appointed educational activities. For the fourth year of the project “Lessons of Jazz.” This is a series of jazz concerts for young people, in addition to the best Lithuanian jazz masters involved in film, theater, mime, circus actors, art and music education for young students and so on.
By 2009, Kaunas great music big band led by experienced jazz pianist, jazz compositions, musical theater productions, music projects and various authors – Romuald Grabštas (1943 01 16-2009 08 27).
